X-ray and Ultrasound

These non-invasive instruments assist in identifying anomalies in your feline companion's organs.

At Torbay Road Animal Hospital, we have an x-ray machine that aids us in caring for your cat. Our equipment ensures that your cat will have minimal radiation exposure and provides a clear image and aids our veterinarians in diagnosing any issues with your cat! It also allows us to email the images to any referral centre!

What is the difference between a cat x-ray and a cat ultrasound?

A cat x-ray is a type of diagnostic imaging technology that helps our doctors see the inside of your cat’s body. If the doctor requests or recommends one for your cat, then it’s because they feel that it will allow them to make a more accurate diagnosis. Ultrasound lets veterinarians capture real-time images of internal functioning, giving vets one more diagnostic tool for trying to determine what is bothering your cat. Although most feline ultrasound procedures are done to check the progress of a pregnancy, this technology has other potentially life-saving capabilities.
