Procedures that provide numerous benefits, including improved health and behaviour.
Spaying or neutering your cat is essential to control unwanted pregnancies and to help reduce the overpopulation of strays. Spaying and neutering are routinely done at our hospital using sterile techniques and monitoring. In addition, several health issues can potentially be avoided by spaying or neutering!
Spaying is the surgical removal of a female cat’s ovaries and uterus, while neutering is the removal of a male cat’s testicles. Both surgeries are conducted at Torbay Road Animal Hospital frequently with few complications. If you have any questions concerning the spay or neuter of your cat, please visit with your veterinarian and they can answer any questions you might have.
It is recommended that you neuter/spay your cat at 6 months of age.
Please speak with your veterinarian and they can answer any questions you may have regarding the procedure.
