Blood tests are an important part of understanding your cat’s overall health and caring for your cat. Blood tests are important for your cat’s health because it provides answers to any medical conditions and to ensure that your cat is healthy.

How long does it take to get blood test results?

It could take as little as five minutes up to approximately 25 minutes.

How should I prepare my cat for their blood tests?

To prepare your cat for bloodwork, it really depends on the type of blood test being performed. However, some things can include fasting your cat and ensuring they are not dehydrated.

How often should blood tests be done?

It is highly recommended that if your cat is going under general anesthetic, they should have blood work done prior to. If your cat is a senior cat, it is recommended that blood work is done yearly. In addition, if the veterinarian suspects any medical issues, blood work would be completed as well.
